Melissa Tidswell

Melissa qualified as a secondary school teacher at the University of Bristol. Since then, she has been teaching Religious Education and Philosophy, with a period as a teaching assistant with teenagers with special educational needs. Melissa studied for her Bacherlor’s degree at the Institute of Education and she has a strong interest in education outside of the everyday classroom. Melissa is due to begin studying an M.Sc part-time in London in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology (child development to you and me!). She has a big interest in making sure children are happy at school. Tutoring with Newell Tuition was an obvious decision for Melissa, as she enjoys working with children as individuals and tailoring the learning to their personal development.
Outside of academia, Melissa enjoys gardening and hanging out with her two kittens, Guacamole and Nacho (see if you can spot Guacamole!). She also enjoys many nights in playing elaborate board games with her friends!
One of her more energetic hobbies is training to play Roller Derby on Sundays. Before she can play a game, she needs to complete various skills such as skating a lap on one leg and skating really fast backwards!
