|Rachel Graduated from Plymouth University in with a BSc in Psychology where she obtained a 2:1. Having focused on learning in her degree, Rachel retrained and joined Newell Tuition in 2012.
Rachel particularly enjoys the rewards that come with helping youngsters, especially when it is reflected back in their progress in school and has had many pupils tell her that they have moved up a group. Rachel is our resident specialist with younger children who have difficulty with reading and has helped many children from ages 6 onwards to gain confidence in reading and begin to delight in the joy that books can bring. She also runs our vocab sessions where children can come and learn how to expand their vocabulary in fun and creative ways.
|Before becoming a tutor, Rachel travelled the world, spending 3 months driving around Europe before spending 3 more months travelling Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. She has also visited Nepal and seen Everest but hasn’t climbed it yet! Rachel is a keen swimmer and on her travels she became a qualified open water diver as she explored coral reefs.
After returning home and before she became a tutor, Rachel pursued a career in travel, using her knowledge and experience to help people fulfil their life long dreams of trips to see the world. Rachel still enjoys travelling and experiencing what our world has to offer.
|When she is not teaching, Rachel spends most of her time raising her one year old daughter but still tries to find time to engage in her creative hobbies of knitting and sewing. She enjoys making dresses for herself, especially when there’s a cosplay element involved.
Rachel is also an avid gamer and enjoys both computer games and board games, much to the surprise and delight of her pupils when they discover that girls also like the geekier things in life!
